San Diego Cardiovascular Associates is hiring a Medical Assistant / Scribe — a dual-role position designed for recent college graduates who are serious about medical school or PA school. Our MA/Scribe alumni have an outstanding track record of acceptance into top medical and PA programs, and this role is built to make you a competitive applicant.
You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our cardiologists, gaining hands-on patient care experience and real expertise in cardiovascular medicine — the kind of clinical exposure that's nearly impossible to get as a college graduate anywhere else.
What you'll do
As a Medical Assistant, you'll room patients and take vitals, document medical history, assist with cardiovascular exams and procedures, perform and assist with EKGs and other cardiac diagnostics, manage patient flow, and provide patient education.
As a Scribe, you'll document patient encounters in real time alongside the physician — capturing history of present illness, exam findings, assessment, treatment plans, and orders directly in the EHR. You'll learn to think like a clinician by watching one work, every day.

Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree (recent graduates encouraged), with a pre-health academic focus (pre-med, biology, health sciences, or similar)
- Serious intent to apply to medical school or PA school
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
- Calm under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Compassionate, professional, and easy to work with
- Comfortable with computers and able to learn EHR systems quickly

Preferred: previous clinical or healthcare volunteer experience, prior scribe training, knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
