Chief Medical Officer

Northern California

A mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking an experienced CMO to lead clinical strategy and support the continued evolution of healthcare delivery across the organization. This executive leadership opportunity offers the ability to make a meaningful impact on quality outcomes, physician engagement, population health initiatives, and overall clinical performance while partnering closely with senior leadership and community stakeholders.

Role Highlights:

• Salary Range: $425,000 to $520,000 annually (DOE)
• Provide executive oversight for medical management, quality, utilization management, and clinical strategy initiatives
• Partner with leadership to improve healthcare quality, patient outcomes, operational performance, and member experience
• Build strong collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and community partners
• Lead and mentor physician leadership teams while fostering accountability, innovation, and engagement
• Support accreditation, compliance, quality improvement, and performance optimization efforts
• Drive strategic initiatives focused on health equity, wellness, affordability, and access to care

The Ideal Candidate:

• MD from an accredited medical school
• Board Certification in a medical specialty, required
• Active California medical license, required
• 12+ years of progressive clinical leadership experience within healthcare or managed care environments
• 7+ years experience working with Medi-Cal and Medicare populations
• Strong strategic leadership, communication, collaboration, and operational decision-making skills
• Experience with quality improvement, utilization management, and population health initiatives preferred
