In this role, you'll contribute to the future of automation technology while supporting critical manufacturing operations tied to GM's vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and plant operations to ensure successful execution of controls projects and continuous improvement initiatives. ️
What's the Job?Design, construct, integrate, and support installation of manufacturing equipment and tooling for production environments
Lead and support controls development activities for new and existing manufacturing programs
Manage project deliverables and ensure alignment with program timing milestones
Provide project updates and presentations to senior leadership
Troubleshoot and support existing manufacturing systems and site operations
Design and troubleshoot electrical controls systems
Support development and testing of advanced process technologies
Work collaboratively with plant teams, suppliers, and engineering groups
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced controls engineers
Support equipment startups and launches, including travel as needed
Participate in controls and robotics design, equipment build/run-off, and buyoff activities
Utilize PLCs, HMIs, and manufacturing network systems in daily operations
Minimum of 5 years of controls manufacturing experience
Strong hands-on technical troubleshooting and controls experience
Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks
Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing and automation environments
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience supporting equipment launches and manufacturing startup activities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
Comfortable interacting with suppliers and plant operations teams
Bachelor's degree is not required
