Stillpoint Talent Group is partnering with a nationally respected multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm to identify a Senior Structural Engineer for its Laurel, MD office. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a firm known for delivering technically advanced and highly coordinated engineering solutions across commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, and government sectors.

The Senior Structural Engineer will serve as a technical leader and project manager responsible for the design and coordination of complex structural systems while mentoring engineering staff and supporting business development initiatives. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer with 8–15 years of experience in structural engineering within a consulting engineering environment who enjoys leading multidisciplinary projects and working directly with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural analysis, design, and detailing for commercial, institutional, industrial, and federal projects
  • Design structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and other building materials for new and existing construction
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Lead project teams while maintaining accountability for project budgets, schedules, and technical quality
  • Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff and design teams
  • Support proposal development, business development, and client relationship management activities
  • Review technical drawings and ensure quality and constructability of structural systems
  • Utilize engineering software including RISA, RAMSS, ETABS, Enercalc, Revit, AutoCAD, and related structural analysis platforms
  • Participate in construction administration activities including submittal review, RFIs, and field coordination
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary offices and engineering teams on large-scale projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
  • PE or SE license required
  • 8–15 years of experience in structural engineering within a consulting engineering environment
  • Strong experience designing structural systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, or federal facilities
  • Experience with steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems required
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software including RISA, RAMSS, ETABS, Enercalc, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Project management and multidisciplinary coordination experience preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Business development and client-facing experience preferred
