Mechanical Plumber

POSITION SUMMARY

Big Boy Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Plumber or Mechanical Technician to work on central domestic hot water and mechanical room projects. The ideal candidate will take ownership of jobs from initial layout through final startup, working independently, maintaining a clean and safe jobsite, and delivering precise, professional results. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES -

Install and connect commercial and multi-family piping systems, pumps, tanks, and valves - Execute mechanical room builds and retrofits from layout through completion - Perform equipment connections and assist with startup preparation - Fabricate and hang grooved piping and strut support systems - Read and work from mechanical drawings with accuracy - Maintain a clean, organized, and code-compliant jobsite at all times

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Experience in commercial or multi-family piping installations - Working knowledge of pumps, tanks, and valves - Grooved pipe fabrication and installation - Strut / unistrut hanging and support systems - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings - Ability to work independently and manage a jobsite - Experience with mechanical room retrofits and new builds

PREFERRED / BONUS EXPERIENCE - Domestic hot water recirculation systems - Venting and gas piping coordination - Commercial hydronic systems - Cooling tower experience
