Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Refrigeration Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems, with a strong emphasis on ice machines, walk-in coolers, and reach-in refrigeration equipment. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a variety of environments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration units, including:

  • Ice machines (all major brands)

  • Walk-in coolers and freezers

  • Reach-in refrigerators and freezers

• Diagnose issues and perform preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of refrigeration systems

• Charge systems with refrigerants and ensure compliance with EPA regulations

• Maintain clear and accurate service records

• Communicate effectively with customers and team members

• Respond to emergency service calls as needed (on-call rotation may apply)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification is a plus

• Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration (or similar)

• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal)

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying environments (hot, cold, confined spaces)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with brands such as Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Scotsman, True, and Beverage-Air

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Familiarity with CMMS or digital service ticketing systems
