Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a private school setting in Union, NJ. The Special Education Teacher will work with students ages 3–21 with disabilities, supporting academic, behavioral, and social development in a structured classroom environment.

Hours/Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
• No evenings or weekends

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals
• Provide individualized and small group instruction
• Modify teaching strategies based on student progress
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
• Promote a safe and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and Child Study Teams
• Participate in IEP meetings and planning
• Support classroom staff and supervise students as needed
• Assist with community-based and work-based learning activities

Requirements

• NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Experience with ABA programming is a plus

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Valid NJDOE certification (TOSD or TOH)
• K–6 or P–3 certification required
