Special Education Teacher

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan private school who is seeking experienced 6-12th Grade Special Education Teachers.

The following specialty needs are:

· Math

· Science

· English

· Social Science

· History

Salary - $75,000-$80,000 depending on experience

Excellent benefits package – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

Hours – Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for various school events.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

· Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data

· Supervise a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom

· Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills

· Responsible for academic and behavior analytic assessments

· Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

Requirements for the Special Education Teacher:

· Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field

· Minimum of 3 years previous teaching experience in a special education setting

· Working knowledge of IEPs

· Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty

· NYS Certification in Special Education

· NYS Certification in Childhood Education or Secondary Education

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Must be able to provide 3 employment references
