Job Summary

Seeking a Medical Oncologist for a community and academic-focused position providing inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams, treating a diverse patient population, and participating in clinical, academic, and research-related activities. Candidates will support growing oncology services across multiple healthcare locations and contribute to patient-centered cancer treatment programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care.
  • Diagnose and manage patients with cancer and blood disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in departmental clinical activities and patient management initiatives.
  • Support clinical and translational research activities when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in academic and educational activities, including collaboration with medical trainees and faculty.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient care initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and additional clinical responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements / Skills
  • Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology required.
  • Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in oncology and hematology treatment practices.
  • Ability to manage both inpatient and outpatient oncology services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
  • Interest in clinical research and academic medicine preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex patient cases and maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate and patient-centered care.
