Our client, located near Sacramento, California, is seeking an Associate Medical Director for Family Practice. Join a wonderful, established community health practice. The ideal candidate is board-certified in Family Medicine with outpatient primary care practice experience and previous leadership experience. FQHC setting experience is preferred.
Responsibilities of the Associate Medical Director:
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality Family Practice care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referrals, and preventive services.
- Address acute, chronic, and preventive health needs; obtain consults or transfer care when outside scope or due to personal or religious limitations.
- Deliver patient-centered, culturally sensitive care and provide health education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to support care coordination and patient engagement.
- Maintain efficient care delivery while meeting quality, productivity, and fiscal goals.
- Respond to patient messages and review/sign clinical results promptly.
- Complete medical records and billing accurately and within required timeframes.
- Maintain licensure and clinical competency through ongoing continuing education.
- Review, update, and develop Family Practice policies, procedures, workflows, and EHR templates.
- Oversee resource and referral utilization; establish standardized referral processes to improve access to specialty care.
- Collaborate regularly with the CMO on clinical issues, performance, and strategic priorities; participate in required meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and corporate integrity requirements.
- Promote a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability across the organization.
Minimum Job Requirements of the FM Associate Medical Director:
- At least three years of recent experience in outpatient primary care practice.
- Experience in a FQHC setting preferred.
- Previous management or leadership experience.
- Meet and maintain all criteria for EHC’s Physician Credentialing/Privileges, including the following:
- Completion of an M.D. or D.O. degree from a U.S. accredited medical school, school of osteopathic medicine, or FMG with ECFMG or Fifth pathway certification, with completion of a US accredited residency program in Family Practice, OR
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current Board Certification in Family Practice.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted State of California medical licensure.
