About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our long-standing independent physician-owned group as part of a planned Medical Director transition. This is a unique opportunity to step into a stable, democratic emergency medicine practice that has served the community since the mid-1970s. The group staffs the Emergency Department at Willamette Valley Medical Center, a 60-bed Level III Trauma Center serving the greater Willamette Valley region.
The current Medical Director has been with the group since 2007 and is seeking the right physician leader for a gradual leadership transition over the next 6–12 months.
Medical Director Role, Compensation, and Benefits
The Medical Director role includes:
- Approximately 60–80 clinical hours monthly plus Administrative responsibilities
- This position offers a pathway into the Medical Director role over approximately 6–12 months.
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine with prior leadership experience preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of post-training experience preferred
- Physician scheduling and operational oversight
- Collaboration with hospital administration and medical staff leadership
- Quality and patient flow initiatives
- Physician mentorship and recruitment
- Departmental strategy and leadership development
