Position Overview

We are hiringMedical Supply Technicians to support the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. You will play a critical role in patient safety by managing reusable medical equipment (RME) and ensuring clinical, dental, and surgical instruments are sterile and ready for veteran care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Decontamination & Sterilization: Clean, disinfect, and assemble complex dental and surgical instrument sets, including the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, store, and distribute supply items to hospital wards, clinic units, and Operating Room (OR) areas.
  • Quality Control: Inspect equipment for damage and ensure all packaging and wrapping meet sterile processing standards.
  • Documentation: Use specialized tracking systems, including Censitrac, to document sterilization and decontamination processes.
  • Technical Integration: Utilize VA systems such as the Sterile Processing SharePoint, Talent Management System (TMS), and Microsoft Teams for departmental communication.


Work Environment

Technicians will be assigned to various departments, including:

  • Decontamination and Sterilization units
  • Examining and Assembly areas
  • Packaging, Receiving, and Distribution hubs


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience working with Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) in a healthcare setting (Dental or Surgical experience preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to learn and use the Censitrac surgical instrument tracking system.
  • Required Certification:CRCST (HSPA), CBSPD, or CSPDT.
  • Compliance: Must be able to follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal safety guidelines.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a VA-issued PIV card/badge and pass necessary background screenings for computer access.
