Salary: $66,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience, plus performance-based bonus

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about creating exceptional client experiences from concept through installation.
Position Overview
The Interior Designer will work closely with the Principal Designer, Associate Designer, Project Managers, and creative team to support all phases of project execution. This individual will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards of design excellence.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a refined design aesthetic with experience in luxury residential and commercial interiors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design & Documentation
● Develop and produce design drawings, including:
○ Furniture plans
○ Elevations
○ Lighting plans
○ Custom furniture drawings
○ Finish plans and specifications
● Create and maintain project documentation, including:
○ Room concepts and schemes
○ Design presentations
○ Budget trackers with high/low options
○ Project schedules and milestone timelines
● Prepare project specifications and installation documentation.
● Produce final punch lists and closeout documentation.
Client & Project Coordination
● Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, building management, and project stakeholders.
● Participate in project meetings by preparing agendas, documenting meeting notes, and distributing meeting summaries.
● Assist with client presentations and design reviews.
● Accompany clients on showroom visits and product selections as needed.
Procurement & Installation
● Source, specify, and procure:
○ Furniture
○ Lighting
○ Window treatments
○ Fabrics
○ Wall coverings
○ Flooring
○ Decorative finishes
○ Artwork and accessories
● Generate and manage purchase orders and client invoices.
● Track and expedite orders to ensure project timelines are met.
● Coordinate deliveries, inspect products upon arrival, and resolve any quality concerns.
● Support and oversee installation activities to ensure successful project completion.
Material & Vendor Management
● Research and source products aligned with project goals and budgets.
● Maintain finish libraries, samples, and vendor resources.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and industry partners.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's Degree/ other certifications in Interior Design and/ or related field experience (A plus)
● Must have a minimum of 5 years of professional interior design experience + in-field experience
● Strong portfolio demonstrating residential, commercial, or multifamily design projects.
● Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (5+ years required).
● Working knowledge of:
○ Revit
○ SketchUp
○ Adobe Photoshop
○ Adobe Illustrator
○ Canva
○ Microsoft Office Suite
● Experience in preparing construction drawings, specifications, and design presentations.
● Understanding of interior design principles, materials, finishes, furnishings, and industry standards.
● Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills.
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
● Must have reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with Houzz Pro & QuickBooks
● Experience in a “start-up” office environment
● Experience working within luxury residential or high-end hospitality environments.
● Familiarity with procurement and project installation processes.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
