We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to support students in grades K–12 for the 2026–2027 academic year. These positions are open to both returning educators and new candidates who are committed to providing high-quality instruction, individualized support, and collaborative services to exceptional learners.
Special Education Teachers in this role will work closely with general education staff, administrators, and related service providers to ensure effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of student programs.
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation to meet each student’s unique needs. This educator participates fully in the planning, coordination, and delivery of services as outlined in student IEPs while adhering to district, state, and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction and support aligned with students’ IEP goals
Collaborate with general education teachers to implement inclusive practices
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to development, planning, and progress monitoring
Maintain accurate documentation using ED Plan and PowerSchool
Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development
Communicate professionally with parents, administrators, and colleagues
Uphold all ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid state teaching certificate as required by regulations
One year of teaching experience (preferred)
Preferred certifications:
Standard Elementary Teaching
Standard Secondary Teaching
Standard Special Teaching
Preferred Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
Current CPR certification (if applicable)
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as applicable)
Current health certificate (if required)
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
Out-of-state certifications are accepted if valid and in good standing.
Candidates must complete all reciprocity steps before clearance.
