Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, staff, and the broader community within a healthcare setting in the Midwest region. This role requires sensitivity to diverse religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, ensuring respectful and personalized care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pastoral care addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate support groups and participate in bereavement services.
  • Maintain accurate records of pastoral care activities and complete required documentation.
  • Arrange or provide religious rites as requested.
  • Oversee specific departmental programs and collaborate with colleagues on service development.
  • Contribute to spiritual awareness through writing devotions and communications.
  • Assist patients and families in understanding and executing Advanced Medical Directives.
  • Participate in patient rounds and care conferences, offering insights on spiritual dynamics.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and self-care practices.
Education and Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary or university.
  • Ordination and ecclesiastical endorsement from the appropriate religious body.
  • Minimum of 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE); 4 units including a 1-year residency preferred.
  • Board eligibility by APC or NACC required; Clinical Membership in ACPE preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years in parish-based ministry preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare-related field preferred.
