Deliver pastoral care addressing the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff.
Communicate effectively and promptly with all stakeholders.
Facilitate support groups and participate in bereavement services.
Maintain accurate records of pastoral care activities and complete required documentation in line with professional standards.
Arrange or provide religious rites as requested.
Oversee specific departmental programs and collaborate with colleagues on service development.
Contribute to patient rounds and care conferences, offering insights on spiritual dynamics in patient care.
Promote self-care and professional development, adhering to educational training requirements.
Participate in staff meetings and perform administrative duties as needed.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary or university.
Ordination and ecclesiastical endorsement from the appropriate religious body.
Minimum of 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE); 4 units including a 1-year residency preferred.
Board eligibility by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) required; Clinical Membership in ACPE preferred.
Experience:
At least 5 years in parish-based ministry preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare-related field preferred.
