ProSidian Seeks a Construction Survey Party Chief - Construction (Time and Materials | Non-Exempt) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.
This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients and ProSidian Team Members work as part of an Engagement Team Cadre to fulfil T&M - Time and Materials requirements.
Responsible to lead a field survey crew to perform various survey activities in support of SRR Construction, Operations and Maintenance initiatives. Candidate will interface with applicable organizations (i.e. Engineering, Supervision, Operations, Design Construction Survey Party Chief - Construction Candidates shall work to support requirements for Technical General Support Services (GSSC) related to NAICS: 541690 - Environmental Consulting Services, NAICS: 541690 - Scientific and Technical Consulting Services - Energy, and NAICS: 591690 - Professional Scientific Technical Consulting Services and Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obey safety rules and make safety an integral part of each task performed.
Manage and coordinate survey work activities / crews performing field surveying in support of construction / maintenance activities or operations requests.
Provide technical and operational direction to survey crew members.
Operate a variety of survey equipment and instruments in performance of physical layout work.
Responsible for operation of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equip to locate underground interferences and embedded commodity interferences.
Provide precision dimensional verification of commodities during fabrication or as-builts.
Provide precise dimensional layout support for critical location / setting of equipment and/or commodities.
Provide Topographic and Boundary surveys in accordance with site procedures and tolerances.
Prepare detail drawings and sketches using Micro-station, including interference research for excavations and information sketches.
Prepare as-built field maps for use in Site Maps upgrade.
Responsible to monitor/ensure survey equipment is calibrated.
Perform walkdowns and review designs for constructability relative to survey / layout.
Provide interface with applicable organizations for safety and/or security concerns affecting proposed or in-process survey activity.

QualificationsThe Construction Survey Party Chief - Construction shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma with a minimum 5+ years practical field survey experience or
- Associates with 4 yrs. practical field survey experience or
- BS with 2 yrs. practical field survey experience
- Experience with modern survey technology including total stations, GPS, survey levels and data collectors - Preferred 5+ years of Survey Party Chief experience
- Basic training and/or experience in use of Trimble Robotic Total Stations (or similar)
- Basic training / experience in use of Trimble GPS/GNSS survey technology (or similar)
- Basic training and/or experience in use of Trimble Business Center software
- Basic training and/or experience in use of GPR technology - A 40-hour workweek is scheduled. SRR construction utilizes a 10 hour per day - four days per week schedule. - A standard work week is Monday through Thursday 6:15am - 4:45pm. However, alternate schedules could be employed. - Workweek excludes SRR holidays. - Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

- Personal vehicles operated by candidate must have valid registration - Personal vehicles operated by candidate must be insured with proof of insurance within the vehicle

All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a "Facility Access Authorization" (also referred to as an "Employment Authorization") by the USG's designated Security Office.

Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, as allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. LOCATION: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
