Medical Assistant

Established in 1972, Dermatology Associates of Concord is a leading Physician-owned dermatology practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. The practice consists of 14 providers and has offices in Concord, Cambridge, and Waltham. We specialize in both medical and cosmetic dermatology, offering a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Responsibilities:

• Clinical Support
• Greets patient and escorts him/her from the waiting room to exam rooms; prepares patients for exam or treatment
• Prepares documentation in electronic medical record for provider when patient is ready in exam room
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
• Assists providers in preparing for examinations and minor procedures
• Maintain surgical schedule and per-certifies surgical and other procedures, if appropriate
• Schedules tests and off site procedures when necessary
• Communicates physician referral requests to referral staff for processing
• Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Disposes of contaminated items according to OSHA guidelines
• Label, document and deliver lab specimens for processing; completes appropriate requisition paperwork for processing and billing of specimens
• Performs patient education when appropriate
• Replenishes supplies - stocks and cleans exam rooms

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in direct patient care/clinical support setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software
• Ability to travel between Concord, Waltham and Cambridge, MA
