About Us

Santo Niño Health Center (SNHC) is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support our Perinatology team in Van Nuys, working closely with Sonographers, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians in a collaborative clinical environment.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering clinical care, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring accurate documentation in a fast-paced perinatology setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient intake, vital signs, and clinical data collection
  • Support sonographers, NPs, physicians and clinical support staff during patient visits and procedures
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • Conduct CLIA-waived lab testing and manage specimen handling/transport
  • Maintain accurate medical records and data entry
  • Communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff
  • Notify patients of lab results as directed
  • Assist with immunization program management (ordering, tracking, reporting)
  • Support medication assistance program and referral coordination
  • Participate in quality assurance and data monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with SNHC policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred) but not required
  • Perinatology or OB/GYN experience preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, walk, bend, stoop, and twist in a clinical setting
