Position Summary

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking an experienced and service-oriented IT Technician II to join our Information Technology team.

This position serves as a key technical resource responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading end-user support activities throughout the organization. The IT Technician II provides advanced technical support, assists with infrastructure maintenance, supports server and network environments, implements technology solutions, and collaborates with leadership to ensure organizational technology needs are met.

The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who enjoys helping others, can manage multiple priorities, and possesses experience supporting enterprise technology environments.

Schedule Highlights
  • Full-time position (40+ hours per week)
  • Participation in on-call rotation required
  • Occasional after-hours maintenance and project work may be required
  • On-site position located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Key Responsibilities Advanced Technical Support
  • Serve as a primary resource for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues
  • Provide support in person, by phone, and remotely
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of issue resolution
  • Assist users with technology-related questions and training
Infrastructure & Systems Support
  • Assist with maintenance and support of:
    • Server environments
    • Operating systems
    • Network infrastructure
    • Telecommunications systems
    • End-user computing devices
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues
  • Support software deployments, updates, and patch management
  • Assist with system security and compliance efforts
Hardware & Software Management
  • Install, configure, and maintain:
    • Workstations
    • Printers
    • Peripheral devices
    • Mobile devices
    • Software applications
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets
  • Assist with equipment evaluation and implementation projects
Project Management & Process Improvement
  • Assist with technology projects and organizational initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and technology utilization
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures
  • Recommend hardware, software, and process improvements
  • Support implementation of new technologies and solutions
Customer Service & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with employees throughout the organization
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
  • Provide technology education and support
  • Maintain timely communication regarding support requests and system issues
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the IT department and PSMC
Operational Support
  • Provide cross-coverage for other IT team members
  • Monitor system alerts and dashboards proactively
  • Assist with vendor coordination and managed service relationships
  • Participate in on-call support as assigned
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
Qualifications Education
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred but not required
  • Equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered
Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a technical support technician, IT support specialist, help desk technician, or similar role preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments strongly preferred
  • Healthcare IT experience preferred but not required
Certifications
  • Current AHA BLS (Heartsaver) certification required
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Windows environments
    • Linux operating systems
    • Hardware and software troubleshooting
    • Networking fundamentals
    • Server support
  • Advanced computer skills required
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and provide recommendations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Compensation Range: $22.45 - $34.70 hourly, based on 0-22 years of relevant experience.
  • Benefits include generous paid time off, separate sick leave, health, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long-term disability and option for short-term disability, and retirement plan with employer contribution.
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Shift Type: Weekdays, subject to on call requirements
