Introduction:
The Procurement Manager will lead Procurement Business Operations for the Business Unit across Raw Materials, Packaging, and External Manufacturers. They will support end-to-end procurement needs, including cost-savings delivery, supply chain resiliency, and execution of the EM strategy. The role requires strong digital fluency, using AI-driven tools, automation, and analytics to streamline processes, enhance insights, and speed decision-making.
This position is critical to delivering value across a $40 million spend portfolio and demands expertise, agility, collaboration, and curiosity to drive the continued success of the Procurement organization and the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead category spend — Oversee Raw Materials, Packaging, and EM spend with a holistic business perspective; manage key suppliers.
- Develop supplier base — Build a resilient supplier network and implement Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for critical materials.
- Implement procurement strategies — Ensure effective execution of Procurement strategies across categories.
- Drive synergy opportunities — Identify, evaluate, and activate cross-category and cross-business synergies.
- Partner with the Business Unit — Establish strong, collaborative relationships with BU leadership.
- Collaborate with Category Managers — Build effective partnerships with Category Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead SRM program — Drive the Supplier Relationship Management program and support Contract Management, Risk Management, and ESG initiatives.
- Deliver cost savings — Own the cost-savings program and ensure delivery of value targets.
- Analyze KPIs — Review performance metrics and lead corrective action plans.
- Lead negotiations — Manage critical negotiations and oversee sourcing events, including RFPs.
Qualifications:
- Global sourcing experience — 6 years of proven success in a global, matrixed environment sourcing direct materials or managing supply chains.
- Educational background — Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
- Manufacturing expertise — Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, specifically sourcing and managing Packaging and Raw Materials.
- Procurement tools mastery — Proficient with RFPs, cost models, should-cost and clean-sheet analysis, negotiations, and contract management.
- Resin market knowledge — Strong understanding of resin markets and related supply chains.
- Team leadership — Demonstrated ability to drive strong results through teams in fast-paced, challenging environments.
- Leadership style — Assertive yet diplomatic; self-directed; effective at influencing across the organization and holding self and others accountable.
- Change leadership — Proven ability to lead change and deliver breakthrough performance improvements across teams and functions.
- Systems proficiency — Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with experience in MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- People leadership — Track record of motivating and inspiring teams to achieve high performance in demanding environments.
- Process improvement — Skilled at identifying process enhancement opportunities and driving transformative improvements.
- Advanced sourcing capabilities — Extensive experience with RFP management, commodity hedging (Resins/Oil), cost modeling, should-cost, clean-sheet analysis, negotiations, and contract strategy.
- Commercial acumen — Strong analytical and financial skills with a history of delivering significant financial impact.
- Executive communication — Exceptional communication and stakeholder-influencing skills at senior management levels, internally and externally.
- AI and digital adoption — Proven track record leading adoption of AI and digital capabilities, including workflow automation, predictive analytics, supplier intelligence, market insights, and data-driven decision support.
