Description

  • Economically and efficiently purchase materials and services with the best combination of price, quality and services related to the end user's requirements.
  • Responsible for site-wide purchasing functions.
  • Plan, perform and administer purchasing activities to assure raw materials , MRO items and services are provided in a timely manner.
  • Insure all purchases meet corporate purchasing, quality and ethical guidelines.
  • Strong negotiation skills required to assure that materials and services are purchased on favorable terms and cost.
  • Perform ongoing analysis and cost reductions to ensure the lowest overall cost and the highest value for dollars spent.
  • Follows ISO and cGMP guidelines and SOPs for purchasing including material specifications, vendor performance and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible for filing and maintenance of vendor records and purchases.

Experience Details

  • Purchasing or other Supply Chain support role.
  • CPM designation with the NAPM (or similar), or a CPIM designation with APICS (or similar) are preferred.
  • Understand basic purchasing and material planning functions.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to work with suppliers and customers in a polite and tactful, yet firm manner.
  • Must have good organizational skills, experience with computerized ERP systems, and experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment to support internal and external customers.

Start Time (AM/PM) 8am

End Time (AM/PM) 5pm

  • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
  • May require a bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • High School diploma required. BS degree preferred.
