What to Expect
At Tesla Energy, we're revolutionizing utility-scale battery storage with Megapack, and our Capital Deployment team is a key enabler of the mission. The team is focused on developing financing solutions to help Megapack customers rapidly deploy their projects. As a Business Development Analyst, you'll support the team by diving into financial analysis, market research, and deal execution-helping standardize the financial products we offer, build partnerships, and launch new investment vehicles. This is a high-impact role where your analytical skills will directly contribute to scaling sustainable energy solutions, working closely with leadership in a fast-paced environment that rewards innovation and precision.
Position is available in Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX.
What You'll Do
Assist in deploying capital by conducting financial modeling, risk assessments, and due diligence for customer-owned large-scale battery storage projectsSupport the standardization of financial products for Megapack customers, including term loans, construction financing, and bridge loans, by analyzing data and preparing templates for global implementationHelp build and maintain relationships with banks, PE funds, and investors through research, outreach preparation, and tracking partnership opportunitiesPerform market analysis on US utility-scale storage/renewables trends, regulatory changes (e.g., FERC, ISO/RTOs), and project development processes to inform team strategiesAid in launching new investment vehicles by gathering data, modeling scenarios, and supporting structuring
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of experience in utility-scale energy project finance, investment banking, or renewables/energy analysis
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, Python) and risk evaluation for creative deal structures
- Solid understanding of the US utility-scale storage/renewables space, including market dynamics, regulations, and project development lifecycles (from feasibility to operations)
- Excellent research and communication abilities, with a knack for synthesizing data into actionable insights
- Global perspective is a plus, especially in regions like Latin America, Europe, or the Middle East

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
