Key Responsibilities
  • System Design & Implementation:Design, configure, and implement secure, scalable, and resilient IT system architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • System Monitoring & Optimization:Monitor system health, performance, and availability using monitoring tools, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions to ensure high uptime.
  • Automation & Scripting:Standardize and automate repetitive operational processes and tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:Conduct high‑level root‑cause analysis of service interruptions and diagnose complex hardware, software, and network issues, establishing preventive measures.
  • Security & Compliance:Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and data encryption, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration & Documentation:Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and project managers, and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and audits.
  • Capacity Planning & Management:Manage backup, disaster recovery, and failover solutions, and conduct capacity planning to forecast future growth and scalability requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Education:A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science or IT.
  • Experience:
    • Typically requires 3-5 years in systems engineering or administration.
    • Experience with operating systems like Linux and Windows Server, virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
    • Strong knowledge of networking principles.
    • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Certifications and Qualifications

Certifications such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CompTIA Network+ or Security+ are preferred.
