Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support build-to-print manufacturing programs involving electromechanical assemblies, interface adapters, and cable assemblies.
This role is responsible for developing Bills of Materials (BOMs), preparing cost proposals, and supporting manufacturing documentation.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast paced environment and possess strong technical and analytical skills. This position is primarily focused on manufacturing and proposal support rather than product design.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers.
- Develop and cost BOMs for electromechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, adapters, and related products.
- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, fabrication files, Gerber files, parts lists, and technical documentation.
- Create production level BOMs to support procurement, supplier RFQs, and manufacturing activities.
- Support supplier selection and make versus buy decisions for machined and sheet metal components.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor and material requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source cables, connectors, and related components.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and on time execution within established build-to-print processes.
- Collaborate cross functionally to support successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in build-to-print manufacturing, proposal development, or a similar environment.
- Experience with BOM development, electromechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, and connectors.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
