About Our Client:

Addison Group is supporting a healthcare organization seeking a detail‑oriented Referral Coordinator to assist with patient referrals, scheduling, and administrative workflow in a fast‑paced clinical environment.


Job Description:

The Referral Coordinator will help manage patient referral processes, maintain accurate documentation, and support communication between providers, patients, and clinical staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and comfort working directly with patients and medical teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and track patient referrals to ensure timely access to specialty care.
  • Maintain and update patient records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicate with referring offices, providers, and patients to coordinate care needs.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, follow‑ups, and general office workflow.
  • Apply ICD‑10/ICD‑9 coding knowledge for documentation and billing accuracy.
  • Support daily operations by managing information flow between staff and patients.
  • Handle patient interactions with empathy and professionalism, including occasional outbound calls.
  • Participate in training and shadowing to learn internal processes and referral procedures.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in referral coordination, medical records, or similar healthcare administrative roles.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance.
  • Familiarity with ICD‑10/ICD‑9 coding.
  • Experience with EClinicalWorks or similar EMR systems preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.


Additional Details:

  • Contract role: 2–3 months
  • Onsite position
  • Hours: Mon–Thurs 8 AM–5 PM; Fri 8 AM–12 PM (working lunch; optional clock‑out extends day to 5:30 PM)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Training includes 1–2 weeks of shadowing
  • One onsite interview; afternoons preferred
  • Urgent need due to upcoming staff leave
