This position assists adults with developmental disabilities who may also have significant medical or behavioral challenges on a day-to-day basis. Areas of assistance include, but are not limited to routine personal care needs, social support, and physical assistance in a wide range of daily living activities. Working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), this position ensures that individuals living in a PCS specialized group home receive individualized care, maintain dignity, and enjoy a safe comfortable home environment while leading a self-directed life in their own community.
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, with additional education / experience in human services fields preferred. Basic computer skills are needed along with good patient documentation skills. Must have a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable ability to transport self to worksites, trainings, and meetings. Experience with ID/DD individuals and CNA is a plus but not required. Multiple shifts needed, rotating weekend availability may be required.
