Job Description
Job Description
Altus is a full-service fire and life safety services platform. We offer a complete suite of solutions, from the design, engineering, installation, and servicing of state-of-the-art fire and life safety systems to training, consulting, crisis management and business continuity services.

Standard Fire Protection, an Altus Fire & Life Safety Company, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for converting inspection-identified deficiencies into approved repair work. This role focuses on quoting, customer follow-up, and closing service and repair opportunities generated from fire and life safety inspection reports.

We value our well-being just as much as our hard work. We are committed to a holistic approach towards benefits plans and programs that support the mental, physical and financial well-being of our team members.

Responsibilities
  • Review completed inspection reports and identify deficiencies requiring repair, replacement, or code-related corrective action
  • Prepare accurate, timely quotes for customers based on inspector findings, applicable codes (NFPA, local AHJ requirements), and standard pricing
  • Proactively follow up with customers via phone, email, and in-person visits to present quotes, answer questions, and secure approvals
  • Maintain a pipeline of open deficiency quotes and drive them to close within established timeframes
  • Coordinate with inspectors, technicians, and operations to clarify scope, validate pricing, and schedule approved work
  • Educate customers on the safety, liability, and compliance implications of unaddressed deficiencies
  • Track quote activity, win rates, and aging in the CRM or service management system
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue and close-rate targets
Required Skills
  • 2+ years of sales, account management, or estimating experience, preferably in fire and life safety, building services, or a related trade
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, extinguisher, and/or backflow systems (training provided as needed)
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and inspection reporting a plus
  • Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage a high volume of open opportunities
  • Comfortable reading inspection reports and translating technical findings into clear customer-facing proposals
  • Proficient with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and service management platforms (e.g., BuildOps, ServiceTrade, BirdDog)
