Accounting Technician
The Accounting Technician performs accounting transactions that may include verifying the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data, determining the general ledger accounts, journals, and subsidiary accounts affected and the debit and credit entries to be made and may summarize transactions and prepare control documents or other posting documents reflecting the entries to be made. The primary duties of the Accounting Technician may include but are not limited to:
- Balances and reconciles reports, statements, summaries and trial balances
- Receives and reviews a wide variety of obligation documents to include purchase orders, contracts, travel orders
- Advises Lead Accounting Technician or higher graded accountants of extraordinary or recurring problems.
- Coordinates the input and output accounting requirements with serviced program areas.
- Distributes systems generated accounting output. Reconciles transactions by others (TBO) vouchers to determine accuracy of input for assigned program directors.
- Reviews accounting data to determine the accuracy of supporting information provided.
- Obtains additional information, prepares necessary worksheets or reports reflecting the type of examination made
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM subject to change based on the needs of the facility
