Title: Human Resource Business Partner
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA (On-site)
Duration: 6-months (maternity leave)
Compensation: $60-$80 per hour
Overview:
We are partnering with a leading global industrial manufacturing company to identify an Interim HR Business Partner to support a critical phase of organizational evolution.
This newly established position will play a key role in driving workforce transformation initiatives while enhancing labor relations within a complex, unionized manufacturing setting. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping culture, strengthening processes, and improving overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with plant and site leadership to guide both operational and cultural change initiatives
- Serve as a primary resource for labor relations, including direct engagement with unions and supporting a heavily unionized (UAW) workforce
- Drive employee engagement strategies to ensure successful adoption of new ways of working
- Provide strategic guidance to leaders on performance management, headcount planning, and organizational design
- Offer HR leadership support during a transition period, including coverage for a senior HR leader on leave
- Help improve workforce productivity, operational effectiveness, and talent readiness
- Support broader restructuring efforts across North America
- Coach and develop frontline leaders to foster a more accountable, performance-oriented culture
- Ensure adherence to employment laws, internal policies, and collective bargaining agreements
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 8 years of HR Business Partner experience, ideally within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Strong background in labor relations, with hands-on involvement in union environments
- Proven ability to operate effectively in periods of change, transformation, or turnaround
- Experience supporting hourly, frontline populations in plant or production settings
- Ability to influence and advise senior leadership with confidence and credibility
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical, results-driven mindset
- Willingness to work onsite full-time in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to quickly onboard and deliver value in an interim capacity
