Compensation: $20-$24/hour (flexibility available for highly qualified candidates)

Job Description:

The Medical Billing Specialist will support various aspects of the revenue cycle process including insurance follow-up, denial resolution, payment posting, patient account review, and billing support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information for accurate claim processing

• Research and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims and submit corrected claims as needed

• Interpret EOBs and remittance advice to determine appropriate account actions and adjustments

• Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients regarding billing questions and account discrepancies

• Utilize payer portals and internal systems to manage claim follow-up activities

• Maintain detailed and accurate account documentation

• Meet productivity and quality expectations within a team-oriented environment

• Follow HIPAA guidelines and company compliance procedures

• Navigate multiple systems, EMRs, and process documentation efficiently

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience

• Familiarity with EOBs, claim follow-up, denials, and insurance billing processes

• Experience working in productivity-focused or metrics-driven environments preferred

• Strong technical skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems quickly

• Experience with EMR platforms such as EPIC is highly preferred

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Comfortable communicating professionally with providers, patients, and insurance representatives

• High school diploma or equivalent required
