Vice President, Business Excellence
The Opportunity
Our client is a highly respected commercial HVAC and mechanical services organization with a long-standing reputation for operational excellence, customer loyalty, and sustained growth. With revenues exceeding $100M and a strong leadership team in place, the company is entering its next phase of expansion and is seeking a Vice President of Business Excellence to help drive that journey.
This is not a functional leadership role. This is a succession-oriented executive opportunity for an individual who wants to broaden their impact across an entire business and ultimately position themselves for future enterprise leadership.
Working directly alongside the President, this individual will gain exposure to every aspect of the organization - operations, service, construction, sales, finance, talent development, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the executive team while helping transform strategic objectives into measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Own
Operational Excellence
- Drive consistency, accountability, and execution across multiple business functions.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, service delivery, project execution, and overall organizational efficiency.
- Lead high-impact initiatives that improve scalability and long-term performance.
Strategic Business Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to establish priorities, evaluate growth opportunities, and execute strategic initiatives.
- Support business planning, organizational development, and market expansion efforts.
- Help create alignment between vision, strategy, and execution.
Financial Performance
- Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, cash flow, and operational leverage.
- Support forecasting, KPI development, reporting, and performance management initiatives.
- Drive data-informed decision making throughout the organization.
Talent & Leadership Development
- Coach, mentor, and develop emerging leaders throughout the business.
- Help strengthen organizational structure, succession planning, and leadership bench strength.
- Foster a culture built around accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead initiatives that bring together Operations, Service, Sales, Finance, and HR.
- Break down silos and improve communication, alignment, and execution across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to executive leadership.

Preferred Background
- 8-15+ years of progressive leadership experience.
- Strong experience within commercial HVAC, mechanical services, building services, industrial services, construction services, or a related field.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated P&L exposure.
- Experience driving operational improvements, process optimization, and organizational growth.
- Executive presence with the ability to build credibility from the boardroom to the jobsite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- MBA or advanced business education is a plus.
- Strong understanding of service operations, project delivery, financial management, and organizational leadership.
- Willingness to be highly engaged in an in-person leadership environment.
