We are seeking a detail oriented Mechanical Engineer with experience in build-to-print manufacturing environments to support the development of Bills of Materials (BOMs), cost proposals, and manufacturing documentation for complex electromechanical assemblies, interface adapters, cable assemblies, and related products. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, proposal development, and cross functional collaboration in a fast paced environment. Minimal design responsibilities are involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers.
- Develop and cost BOMs for electromechanical assemblies, interface adapters, test assemblies, and cable assemblies.
- Interpret technical documentation including drawings, wiring diagrams, fabrication files, Gerber files, parts lists, and ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Create production level BOMs to support purchasing, supplier RFQs, and material procurement activities.
- Support make versus buy decisions and supplier selection for machined and sheet metal components.
- Prepare detailed cost proposals, including labor estimates and material costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to source cables, connectors, and related materials.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution within established build-to-print processes.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to support successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing, build-to-print, proposal development, or similar environments.
- Experience with BOM development and electromechanical assemblies, including cables and connectors, is required.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
