Accounts Payable Clerk
Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible); full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; full-benefits; partial teleworking schedule may be available in accordance with Division policies This skilled technical position is responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of Accounts Payable transactions. Supervision is primarily received from the Accounts Payable Supervisor. NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities
- Verify invoices are accurate and electronically processed in a timely manner utilizing multiple automated accounting systems
- Identify invoice submission errors and/or omissions, research variances and report analysis to management
- Follow FCG Accounts Payable standards and accounting internal control policies
- Create, prepare and generate Accounts Payable reports using Infor financial system
- Process multiple ACH and check pay cycles efficiently, effectively and independently to meet multiple deadlines
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails, offering prompt information and support to vendors, other County departments, and agencies as needed. For inquiries that require specialized attention, refer those matters to the appropriate staff member
- Update and maintain manual and digital files utilizing cloud and/or network-based systems
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements
The qualifications/requirements, knowledge/skills/abilities and physical requirements or working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES A successful incumbent operating in this role displays the following:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and county laws, regulations, and requirements regarding finance and accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of current accounts payable accounting principles and processes, internal controls, and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of FCG Accounts Payable standards and procedures and FCG audit guidelines
- Knowledge of fraud techniques
- Knowledge of and ability to perform transactions in an automated financial system
- Skilled in the use of applicable computer programs and software (Microsoft Office)
- Accurate math and clerical skills, including the ability to accurately read, process, and verify statistical data
- Ability to effectively access and utilize computerized systems and equipment
- Ability to effectively compile and review fiscal and statistical information, and to create clear, concise reports and spreadsheets
- Ability to accurately compile, write, and analyze financial statements and reports
- Ability to conceptualize multiple facets of the AP process
- Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage time
PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR :
- A college degree received in Accounting or related field
- Work experience in an accounts payable related role
- Experience creating financial reports
- Experience using the INFOR Financial System
- Local government work experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS: - While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly sit; frequently reach; occasionally walk, lift up to 20 pounds, and perform repetitive motions; rarely stoop and lift between 20-50 pounds.
- While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly work indoors and rarely work outdoors.
