Overview

The VP of Business Development is responsible for the development and execution of the overall sales strategy for the assigned region.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages sales performance goals for the region.
  • Leads and develops a regional sales team ensuring they have the necessary training and resources to drive business from physicians, facilities and other referral sources. Builds a strong pipeline of talent by leveraging individual strengths and closing performance gaps.
  • Creates and directs the region's enterprise growth strategy partnering with health care providers to ensure a continuum of care. Innovates to identify new or different growth strategies.
  • Works closely with the operations team to ensure successful execution of the region's operational & growth strategy. Builds collaborative relationships with operations partners and makes decisions based on what's best for Amedisys vs. personal gain.
  • Functions as a member of the executive management team for the region ensuring that company compliance, performance and HR guidelines are maintained in the region.
  • Creates a culture of engagement with open communication channels, asking for feedback, building trust and supporting others.
  • Partners with employees to set appropriate goals. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job development opportunities. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Redirects performance and behavior when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health profession, or related field; or Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Five (5+) years' healthcare sales management experience.
  • Eight (8+) years' healthcare sales experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • Home Health and/or Hospice experience.
