About the Company

We are a specialized industrial contractor providing field and shop-applied weld overlay services to clients in petroleum refining, petrochemical processing, pulp and paper, power generation, and related heavy industries. Our work is technical, our team is tight-knit, and our standards are high. We don't do corporate bureaucracy — we do quality work, done safely, on time.

About the Role

This is not a desk job, and it's not for someone looking to punch a clock and collect a paycheck. We're looking for a self-starter with a hands-on industrial background who has transitioned into safety and wants to take full ownership of our safety program — while also representing the company at industry events and helping us build client relationships.

If you're the kind of person who sees a problem and fixes it, who communicates openly, who takes pride in developing your expertise, and who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment — keep reading.

What You'll Be Doing

Safety Leadership (approximately 70% of the role):

  • Own and operate the company's entire Corporate Safety Program — policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Monitor OSHA regulations and keep the team informed of changes that affect our work
  • Conduct field site audits at industrial facilities and ensure safe work practices are followed
  • Investigate incidents, lead corrective action plans, and track safety statistics across all projects
  • Manage Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability claims
  • Oversee contractor prequalification through ISNetworld, Avetta, BROWZ, and similar platforms
  • Administer drug and alcohol testing program (pre-employment, random, post-accident)
  • Serve as on-site Safety Representative during critical field projects — this includes 12-hour shifts

Industry Networking & Business Development (approximately 30% of the role):

  • Represent the company at 4-6 industry conferences and trade shows per year
  • Build relationships with potential clients in refining, petrochemical, power, and pulp & paper sectors
  • Assist with marketing materials, sales presentations, and website updates
  • Maintain CRM records of client interactions and follow-up activities

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in welding, industrial construction, or a related field — with a transition into safety
  • OSHA 30-hour certificate required; a degree in engineering or industrial safety is a plus
  • Solid experience with contractor prequalification platforms: ISNetworld, Avetta, and/or BROWZ
  • A mechanical mindset — you understand how things work, and you notice when they don't
  • Comfortable in both a hard hat and a trade show booth — you can talk shop with engineers and connect with new clients
  • Strong communicator who isn't afraid to speak up, push back when necessary, and be direct
  • Valid U.S. Passport and driver's license required — domestic and occasional international travel involved
  • Stable work history — we value people who commit, grow, and build expertise in one place

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $70,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
  • Overtime and paid time opportunities available through billable field projects — strong performers earn more
  • Travel time paid on billable site projects
  • Daily Per Diem for meals, incidentals, and hotel on field assignments
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Vacation and Sick Time
  • No relocation reimbursement — local candidates preferred
