Architectural Historian

Job Description Job Description We have an immediate opportunity for a full-time architectural historian in the Northern California area. This position will require fieldwork. Job Responsibilities * Conducting archival research * Prepare historic context, applying National Register criteria. * Prepare architectural history components of NHPA and CEQA technical reports * Document Architectural resources on California DPR 523 records and History American Building Survey (HABS) / Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) / Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS), and other duties as assigned * Excellent written and oral communication * Knowledge of GIS and basic understanding of cultural resources mapping and date collection * Previous field experience * Travel within Northern California as required Education and Experience * Master of Arts (evidence of completion or nearly completed) in Historic Preservation, Public History, Architecture, Architectural History or closely related * 1-2 years of experience * Proficiency with Microsoft Suite We offer a generous benefits package including company-paid medical insurance, paid holidays, 401k and paid time off (PTO) Upon a conditional job offer, a drug test and background check will be required.
