Stepdown Registered Nurse - Pell City, Alabama

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A critical care stepdown nursing position is available for a dedicated registered nurse with expertise in Stepdown/Progressive Care. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential care to acutely ill patients. The assignment is for 13 to 16 weeks, with a schedule comprising night shifts (3x12-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours), every other weekend, and three required holidays (selected from major/minor dates between late November and early January).

Shift/Schedule Details:

• Night shifts
• 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Must work three holidays from 11/27, 11/28, 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted AL or multistate compact RN license (must already have, not pending)
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in stepdown nursing
• Previous travel assignment experience
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record systems
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments and scheduling needs
• Local travelers are considered, subject to different compensation structure

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to stepdown/progressive care patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient responses and progress
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Triage and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition
• Ensure accurate medication administration and follow detailed care plans
• Maintain meticulous documentation within the Cerner system
