Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Position Overview

In this role, you will provide essential support and service before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will ensure that surgical equipment and supplies are correctly arranged and available in the operating room for each procedure. Additionally, you will assist the surgeon during operations in accordance with professional and legal standards and help with the cleaning of the operating room post-procedure, ensuring proper handling of equipment and materials.


Qualifications
  • Completion of a surgical technician program accredited by CAAHEP is mandatory.
  • Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required, or the ability to obtain CST certification within six months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must strictly adhere to policies and regulations regarding the maintenance of a sterile field.
  • Understanding and application of basic patient care and safety concepts.
  • Ability to apply aseptic principles to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the names and functions of surgical equipment and instruments is essential.
  • Knowledge of various surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining certification through ongoing education activities.
