Job Opportunity: Faculty in Translational Research

Position: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (commensurate with experience)

Our organization is excited to announce an opening in the Department of Urology for a full-time faculty member focused on basic science research. This role is dedicated to establishing a translational research program in areas such as imaging science, image-guided therapy, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and molecular, developmental, or stem cell biology, particularly as they relate to urological cancers and benign urological conditions. The faculty position is available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, with tenure track options. The Department is committed to enhancing the foundational science of urological diseases and translating these findings to improve healthcare outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute significantly to the Department of Urology's mission by driving research, discovery, and innovation through multidisciplinary translational research initiatives.
  • Establish a strong basic science, translational, and/or clinical research program, focusing on securing extramural grants, publishing findings, and fostering trainee education and innovation.
  • Develop leadership skills through various departmental and institutional programs.
  • Mentor junior faculty and residents, fostering their professional growth.
  • Commit to educating the next generation of diverse leaders in urologic care.
  • Engage in departmental mentorship, conferences, and training for residents and fellows.
  • Serve a diverse patient population and build collaborative relationships with faculty and support staff.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced education in relevant biological and engineering fields (e.g., Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D., along with postdoctoral fellowship experience).
  • A demonstrated record of publications and success in obtaining extramural funding.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with clinical colleagues is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work closely with clinicians in urology and related disciplines to develop innovative research directions.
