Role Description The HVAC Comfort Advisor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Laurel, MD, with a mix of on-site visits and work from home for follow-up and administrative tasks. This position focuses on advising residential customers on heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions that improve comfort, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting in-home or on-site assessments, evaluating existing HVAC systems, identifying comfort and efficiency issues, and recommending appropriate equipment or system upgrades. The HVAC Comfort Advisor prepares estimates and proposals, explains options and financing in clear, accessible terms, and follows up with customers to support decision-making and project scheduling. The role also involves coordinating with installation and service teams, maintaining accurate records in CRM or related software, and staying current on product offerings, incentives, and energy efficiency best practices.

Qualifications

• Applied technical skills in HVAC and Plumbing, with the ability to understand system design, components, and installation considerations.
• Ability to perform a Manuel J. to size equipment aproriately.
• Strong Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance knowledge to identify comfort issues, system deficiencies, and energy-saving opportunities.
• Excellent Customer Service capabilities, including active listening, clear communication, and the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
• Experience in residential sales, estimating, or comfort consulting is required.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, equipment specifications, and utility or rebate program requirements.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., CRM software, email, spreadsheets) and comfort using tablets or laptops in the field.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to customer sites within the region.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, building science, or energy efficiency are a plus.
• Ability to work safely in homes and buildings, including attics and basements, and to lift and carry equipment as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
