Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio company is actively recruiting for a temporary, Pitch & Proposal Manager for a hybrid assignment for a law firm client in Washington, DC.
While this is a hybrid position, candidates must be able to go onsite as needed up to 5 days per week.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Duration: 8 weeks, potentially longer - covering for a leave of absence.
Location: Hybrid, but ability to go onsite as needed is required.
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Pitch & Proposal Manager to join our Business Development team. In this role, you will help drive new business by leading the development of high-quality, client-focused pitches, proposals, and RFP responses. You will manage the full response lifecycle—from kickoff through submission—ensuring each deliverable is compliant, compelling, and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pitch and proposal response process from start to finish, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Provide strategic guidance for formal RFP responses, proposals, and pitch materials.
- Organize and facilitate kickoff meetings to assess requirements, establish timelines, assign responsibilities, and align stakeholders.
- Partner with attorneys, business development professionals, marketing teams, pricing staff, and other contributors to coordinate the response process.
- Conduct audience, client, project needs, and perception analyses to inform response strategy and strengthen positioning.
- Develop and articulate compelling value propositions, win themes, differentiators, and client-centric benefits.
- Draft, edit, and refine proposal and pitch content to ensure clarity, quality, and consistency.
- Create new content as needed and maintain a library of reusable firm, practice, and sector-specific content.
- Perform quality control on all materials, ensuring content is accurate, polished, compliant, and aligned with client requirements.
- Recommend and implement solutions to improve proposal processes, content quality, and overall efficiency.
- Support other related business development and proposal initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing RFPs, proposals, or pitch responses in a professional services environment.
- Experience working in a law firm or legal/professional services setting strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with databases, content management systems, and presentation software.
