Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), your primary responsibility will be to deliver Cardiopulmonary care services in line with specific physician directives, departmental policies, and procedures. The RRT will provide respiratory care and life support to patients experiencing issues with their cardiopulmonary systems, as well as conduct diagnostic tests to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart and lung conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and evaluate responses to prescribed therapies according to the care plan, including both routine and intensive therapies and diagnostic procedures.
  • Utilize various oxygen and therapeutic gas delivery systems, such as masks, tents, and incubators.
  • Deliver prescribed medicinal gases and aerosol treatments.
  • Measure ventilatory volumes, pressures, and conduct blood gas analyses.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and their responses to treatments.
  • Perform various tasks related to the setup, operation, cleaning, sterilization, and storage of respiratory therapy equipment.
Qualifications Required:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field.
  • State certification as a Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner (TN RRT/RCP) and National Board for Respiratory Care Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) certification.

Our facility is a 270+ bed hospital located near downtown Chattanooga, offering a wide range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These include cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation services. We also feature a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program, OB-GYN services, and a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), along with behavioral health treatment centers for both children and adults.
