This role provides specialized nursing care to neonates beginning at 22+ weeks gestation in a high-volume, fast-paced environment focused on delivering exceptional family-centered care.The ideal candidate is a motivated and dependable clinician who demonstrates initiative, adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and teamwork. Candidates with pediatric experience are highly valued to support occasional cross-coverage opportunities.Unit Overview14 licensed NICU beds with current census exceeding licensed capacity levelsTeam includes approximately:50 Nursing staff2 Full-Time Physical TherapistsNutrition ServicesSpeech TherapySocial WorkCare provided for neonates beginning at 22+ weeks gestationNo surgical NICU patient populationIf census decreases, nurses may occasionally float to:Pediatric unit (infant assignments only)Maternity unit (newborn care only)Floating is uncommon but flexibility is expected.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level III NICU environment.Perform ongoing neonatal assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to neonatal care standards.Collaborate with neonatologists, therapists, nutrition services, social work, and interdisciplinary teams.Educate and support parents and caregivers through neonatal treatment plans and discharge preparation.Respond appropriately to neonatal emergencies and escalating patient needs.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality outcomes.Support smooth patient transitions and continuity of care.Required QualificationsBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable stateMinimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU experienceCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) CertificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationPreferred QualificationsPediatric nursing experience to support occasional cross-unit assignmentsExperience in high-acuity neonatal environmentsStrong neonatal assessment and critical care skillsExperience working within interdisciplinary care teamsApply today to be part of a dedicated healthcare team!Prosperity thanks all applicants for their interest in this opportunity.
