Job Mission:

Provide accurate designs and functionality to achieve more efficient and productive results to ensure accurate, quality products and parts.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical design using CAD
  • Measure, create and draft 3D models and drawings
  • Update existing models and drawings
  • Reverse engineer parts and assemblies
  • Verify information on new and existing parts
  • Create and update part numbers, BOMs and routers
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes
  • Work hand in hand with other departments
  • Resolve engineering problems through research and collection of information
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following established standards and procedures
  • Work with the production team to improve designs for manufacturing

Required Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in Solidworks or other CAD based design software
  • Basic knowledge of Google/Microsoft Programs


Desired Experience:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Basic knowledge of various measuring instruments and methods


Challenges:

  • Researching and finding information on new or unknown parts
  • Reverse engineering parts with limited computer access at times
  • Problem solving and critical thinking to come up with solutions to issues that may be slowing or halting production
  • Multi tasking various projects
  • Designing parts to align with the manufacturing capabilities available
