Panel Shop Lead Technician – Manufacturing & Installation

The Panel Shop Lead Technician – Manufacturing & Installation plays a hands-on leadership role in the build and wiring of electrical control panels for internal and external customers at Pillar Innovations. This position is suited for an experienced technician with a strong understanding of electrical control panels and wiring practices who can lead by example on the shop floor. In addition to building and troubleshooting panels, this role helps guide daily work, support quality standards, and mentor technicians by sharing knowledge and best practices.

The position requires flexibility for extended hours as needed and occasional travel to customer sites, sometimes with overnight stays. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with leadership and helping others succeed, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

General duties include exercising safe electrical practices, assisting personnel in identifying hazards, reading and interpreting electrical drawings, recognizing necessary revisions, identifying and implementing areas for efficiency gains, assisting with quality control tasks, assisting with customer communications, ensuring project documents are accurate and complete, assisting with on-site installations, and training and mentoring panel shop techs.

Layout and panel building duties involve overseeing and acting as a resource to panel shop techs, performing panel building duties as needed, providing oversight for control panel wiring and assembly, providing insight to engineers in the design process, performing control wiring duties, overseeing testing of finished panels, overseeing and acting as a resource to panel shop techs related to electronics and soldering duties, performing electronics and soldering duties, staying up-to-date with electrical codes and safe wiring practices, leading the installation of energized systems, overseeing the function testing of completed systems, and performing advanced electrical troubleshooting.

Working conditions include standing for an extended period of time, walking, using hands and arms, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and adhering to electrical codes and safe wiring practices.

What you'll bring includes 5+ years' experience and/or education in electrical related work, demonstrated leadership ability, ability to oversee small projects, ability to work under minimal supervision, ability to independently troubleshoot electrical circuits, ability to differentiate color codes, ability to read, interpret, and mark up electrical schematics, proficiency in electrical theory and shop standards, and proficiency in the use of basic and advanced hand and power tools.

Min: USD $24.00/Hr.

Max: USD $28.00/Hr.
