We are seeking a Digital Standards and Web Accessibility Reviewer to join our team. The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule consisting of two (2) days each week onsite (Tuesday and Wednesday) in Lansing, MI and three (3) days each week remotely.
Overview:
Our client is seeking to hire a Web Accessibility Analyst to conduct reviews for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications, which include standards for branding and digital accessibility.
Job Duties:
- Conduct reviews of SOM websites and applications and documents for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications
- Test for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools including screen reader and other assistive technology
- Review for adherence with additional standards including branding
- Perform testing on desktop and mobile devices
- Thoroughly document review results
- Provide results to application support teams and stakeholders and meet with teams to explain results
- Work closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education:
- Some college
Required Skills:
- 1+ years of testing applications for digital accessibility
- 1 year working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
- Advanced skills using assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
Preferred Skills:
- 3+ years of testing applications for digital accessibility
- Certification related to WCAG
- Previous government experience
