Physician - Psychiatrist

The role encompasses a variety of essential duties, including:

• Clinical Duties:
  • Conduct evaluations and manage patient care through both in-person visits and telehealth services.
  • Assess patients in outpatient mental health settings and supervise trainees, such as medical students and residents, in these environments.
  • Implement safety protocols, environmental standards, and infection control measures.
  • Guide other healthcare team members on preventive medicine initiatives and relevant medical practices.
• Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinical operations involving staff and trainees within treatment teams, including RNPs and clinical pharmacists.
  • Participate in hospital or service-level committees, such as the Medication Management Committee or Pain Committee.
  • Support and promote the philosophy and objectives of VAPAHCS.
  • Ensure that research outcome studies are conducted in accordance with VAPAHCS policies and procedures.

• Possession of a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

• Full-time position with a schedule determined by the supervisor.
