Our organization is on the lookout for a distinguished academic leader to take on the role of Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Dermatology. This senior position entails overseeing the management, administration, and strategic direction of all clinical operations involving faculty, residents, and fellows within one of the country's premier academic dermatology departments. The Vice Chair will be responsible for guiding the Department’s growing clinical initiatives while supporting its integrated missions in clinical care, education, and research.
The selected candidate will maintain an active clinical practice within our multi-specialty faculty practice organization, which comprises over 2,900 physicians dedicated to merging innovative research with state-of-the-art patient care.
In collaboration with the Department Chair and in alignment with the leadership of our institution and affiliated hospitals, the Vice Chair will spearhead the execution of a comprehensive clinical strategic plan aimed at expanding ambulatory services and enhancing operational efficiency.
Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Dermatology at our institution is nationally acclaimed for its excellence and leadership in clinical care, education, and research. Over the last century, our faculty has made groundbreaking discoveries that have significantly advanced human health, including pioneering techniques in ionizing radiation, syphilis treatment, corticosteroid applications for pemphigus vulgaris, and foundational research leading to the antifungal agent nystatin. Innovations such as photopheresis for cutaneous T cell lymphoma and Janus kinase inhibitors for alopecia areata originated here. The Department includes clinical divisions in Adult Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, Mohs Surgery, and Dermatopathology, along with ACGME-accredited training programs for Dermatology Residency and fellowships in Pediatric Dermatology, Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, and Dermatopathology.
