Position Overview and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all operations within the unit or department during assigned shifts. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby fostering an outstanding patient experience and clinical results that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services within the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
  • Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a teamwork-oriented environment that drives improved outcomes and service quality.
  • Embraces a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Contributes to enhancing staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new personnel. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists in staff scheduling and manages all practical aspects of labor in alignment with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
  • Ensures effective inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Training:

  • Must hold a current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice or possess an active compact license, as required by law and regulation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months.
